SR School Board names security coordinator
Slippery Rock School District didn't need to look far to meet new state-mandated security requirements.
Act 44 of 2018, signed last month by Gov. Tom Wolf, requires school districts to designate a safety and security coordinator to oversee security teams.
Superintendent Alfonso Angelucci said Assistant Superintendent Patricia Kardambikis was named to the position. He said she had already been serving in a similar role.
“We made it official to meet the requirements for Act 44,” Angelucci said.
Angelucci said no other changes were needed to comply with Act 44 for their district.
“We contract with a security company and they staff us with security,” Angelucci said. “I'm satisfied with the steps that we've taken to keep our students and staff safe.”
