CY+ to start selling marijuana buds

Butler's homegrown medical marijuana grower-processor will be one of three dispensaries in the region to start selling the drug in plant form later this week.

Butler's homegrown medical marijuana grower-processor will be one of three dispensaries in the region to start selling the drug in plant form later this week.

Cresco Yeltrah, also known as CY+, was named Monday alongside one other dispensary in southwestern Pennsylvania by the state Department of Health.

The department announced Monday that three dispensaries — two run by CY+, which has locations on Pillow Street in Butler as well as Pittsburgh, and one operated by Solevo Wellness in Pittsburgh — would begin selling dry leaf marijuana Aug. 1.

A spokesman for CY+ said the company was planning to offer more than 30 unique strains of marijuana in dry leaf form when sales begin Wednesday.

The department said Monday that the dry leaf sales program will expand from 16 dispensaries Wednesday to 28 starting Aug. 8.

A full story will appear in Tuesday's Butler Eagle.
