Police probe death as suspected drug OD
Butler police are investigating what they say is a suspected fatal drug overdose that claimed the life of a 43-year-old city woman.
The body of Laura O’Donnell was found Tuesday afternoon in an upstairs bedroom of a relative’s house on Spring Street, authorities said.
Butler County Deputy Coroner Larry Barr pronounced her dead. He said it appeared that she had been dead for at least a few hours.
An autopsy was performed that night but the final results, including cause of death, are pending toxicology reports, Barr said.
Police said a family member went to check on the woman and found her unresponsive. A 911 call was received just before 1 p.m.
