Mae Lynn Edwards
Girl Scout leaders honored

PITTSBURGH — Mae Lynn Edwards, a Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania volunteer from Harrisville, received the Thanks Badge I at the council's recent annual meeting. The badge is a national award from Girl Scouts of the USA.

The honor recognizes a registered Girl Scout volunteer whose service continues to affect the entire council of Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania or the Girl Scout movement in extraordinary ways.

Edwards is a troop leader, service unit manager, product sales manager, council delegate and member of the Girl Scout Gold Award committee. She provides training to girls and volunteers on the Silver and Gold awards and helps plan and implement the Gold Award Ceremonies.

Edwards is also a mentor to other troop leaders. Her creativity and insight have strengthened programs and helped to retain membership.

Sharon Enslen of Prospect received the Honor Pin as recognition of her exemplary support of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which has had measurable impact on two or more geographic areas of service and allowed the council to reach and surpass its mission-delivery goals.

Enslen is troop leader of Girl Scout Troop 52619 and a 23-year Girl Scout volunteer.Enslen is an active member of the Gold Award committee and mentors up to 35 scouts at a time. She conducts Silver and Gold workshops and has served on the travel committee which gives girls the opportunity to travel worldwide.
