[naviga:h3]Roadwork projects pick up speed[/naviga:h3]

Road patching and replacement projects are scheduled for the coming week in Butler County.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, lane restrictions are planned on Route 3019, Warrendale Road between Route 228 and Allegheny County, for patching operations. The work is expected to be completed before the end of the week.

Motorists traveling Warrendale Road can expect congestion and delays and should allow extra time or seek alternative routes between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Brownsdale Road, is scheduled to close for a pipe replacement project in Penn Township.

Brownsdale Road will close to traffic Monday between Valencia Road and Riebold Road, and a posted detour will be in place. The detour uses Valencia Road to Union Church Road, to Mars Evans City Road, to Route 68 East to Brownsdale Road.

The road is expected to reopen May 12, and in the interim will be open for local traffic and emergency personal only.

Seven Fields borough will kick off its annual road resurfacing program Monday. Ten borough roads will be milled and paved: Bedford Court, Wilshire Circle, Welbourne Court, Georgetown Court, Fairfax Court, Saxony Drive, Wellington Drive, Wedgewood Drive, Woodhaven Drive and a portion of Northridge Drive from Old Mars-Crider Road to Farrington Drive.

Tom Smith, borough manager, said work should take a week or two, weather permitting.
