Woman testifies about drive-by shooting

Raheem J. Robinson, 26, left. Mackenzie P. Peters, 22, right.

Attempted homicide, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and other charges were held for court Monday against a couple accused of taking part in an April 5 shooting in the city.

The attorneys representing Mackenzie P. Peters, 22, and Raheem J. Robinson, 26, both of Butler questioned three witnesses provided by the prosecution and asked for some of the charges to be dropped, but District Judge William Fullerton ordered the case to continue in Butler County Court.

Kirisa Taimuty testified that she was walking home with her 2-year-old son in a stroller and two other adults on North Sixth Street when a car allegedly driven by Peters approached them and stopped in the middle of the road. Robinson, in the passenger seat of the car, fired several shots at the group, she said.

She confirmed that she had called Jedediah Owens-Vickers to “walk her home” after getting in an argument with Robinson at Peters' house earlier that night. When asked if Owen-Vickers was the male who reportedly returned fire that night, Taimuty said she did not see him firing shots.

Robinson and Peters remain behind bars in Butler County Prison.

City police said the incident is still under investigation when asked if Owens-Vickers, who is in Butler County Prison on other charges, has been questioned about the his role in the shooting.
