Man charged with leading police on chase
SUMMIT TWP — A Fenelton man is accused of leading state troopers on a high-speed chase while driving drunk on St. Patrick’s Day.
Police say Carl F. Slupe, 23, of Fenelton did not pull over at 1:46 a.m. Saturday on Simon Drive in Summit Township when troopers tried to stop him for a summary traffic violation.
He allegedly attempted to elude troopers driving on Simon Drive, Herman Road and Moran Road while hitting speeds in excess of 90 mph. He eventually came to a stop on Moran Road in the area of North Osche Road, where he was arrested, according to police.
Police allege that he was under the influence of alcohol and charged him with felony fleeing and eluding, DUI and several summary violations.
