Seneca Valley among safest school districts
JACKSON TWP — Seneca Valley has been ranked one of the safest schools in the state by the website Niche.com
The district is eighth in the state and 28th in the nation for safest schools according to the website, which offers rankings and statistics on neighborhoods, K-12 schools and colleges.
The ranking was based on reviews from students and parents, which received half the weight for the ranking, and data from the National Center for Education Statistics and the Civil Rights Data Collection. The data looked at expenses per student, student absenteeism, in-school suspensions, out-of-school suspensions, expulsions, law enforcement referrals and school-related arrests.
North Allegheny School District, a neighboring district in Allegheny County, is ranked 16th in the state. No other Butler County schools made the top 50.
