Truck driver blames GPS for rollover crash

Jackson Township Police arrested a man from Atlanta after he allegedly crashed a Freightliner tractor-trailer while under the influence of alcohol.

Myron Harbour is charged with two counts of DUI after he failed to stop for a stop sign and rolled his vehicle onto its passenger side.

He has been released on a $25,000 unsecured bail.

Harbour told police responding to the scene of the crash that his GPS told him to take exit 89 off Interstate 79 and was traveling about 70 mph at the time. He was unable to slow his truck down enough to stop at the sign or to negotiate a left turn, which resulted in the crash.

Police noticed a smell of alcohol coming from the man and asked him to perform field sobriety tests, two of which he failed, according to the report. He also failed a portable breath test.

Officers then took Harbour to UPMC Passavant Cranberry for a chemical test, which he refused to take. Police later took him to the Butler County Prison where he was eventually released on bail.

His formal arraignment will be held late next month.
