Saving Second Base tourney set
WEST SUNBURY — Moniteau High School graduates Heather McMillen and Chloe Eshenbaugh have organized a Saving Second Base softball tournament to raise money for breast cancer research.
The tournament will be held June 3-4 at the West Sunbury ball fields.
The two began the event while they were in high school for a senior project. After a two-year hiatus, they brought the event back two years ago.
McMillen lost her mother, Mitzi, after a four-year battle with breast cancer in 2004.
Eshenbaugh's mother, Claudine, is a one-year breast cancer survivor.
This is the third consecutive year for the tournament.
Cost is $100 per 10-player team. Each team must include one female.
It will be a two-day, double-elimination tournament, depending on the number of teams registered.
There will also be a concession stand, drawings, auctions and breast cancer awareness car window stickers on sale.
To register a team, make a donation or for more information, call McMillen at 724-290-5936.
