Motorcyclist hurt in crash
CLAY TWP — A 33-year-old man was injured Sunday morning while riding a motorcycle at the Switchback Raceway on Route 8, authorities said.
The man’s name is not known. He was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital with a reported back injury.
State police were not called to the accident and no report was available.
The victim apparently crashed the motorcycle about 11:40 a.m. He was conscious and breathing following the wreck, according to a 911 report.
The Unionville Volunteer Fire Department was called to set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter at its station. Authorities said the man was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital.
