[naviga:h2]Recital series established[/naviga:h2]

Tanya Satteson, concertmistress of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra since 2013, has announced the establishment of the Butler County Recital Series.

The organization will share classical solo and chamber repertoire with the community through regular performances at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

The season will consist of two concerts, both of which will feature Satteson on violin and Nancy DeSalvo on piano. Satteson and DeSalvo are graduates of the Cleveland Institute of Music.

The premiere will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 16. Tickets are available at www.butlercountyrecitalseries.org.

[naviga:h2]Bach Society to perform[/naviga:h2]

The Bach Society, a community chorus, will have its spring concerts “Spirited and Inspired” at 7:30 p.m. May 5 and 6.

The May 5 concert will be at Center Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock and the May 6 concert will be at Tower Presbyterian Church in Grove City.

Admission is free.

[naviga:h2]Star parties set [/naviga:h2]

Spring star parties sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh are to begin, weather permitting, at about 8:20 p.m. May 5 and 6 at Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park near Russellton. Call 724-224-2510.
