A Virginia man, charged with head-butting a police officer in the chest, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to probation in Butler County Court Monday.

Phillip I. Glover, 25, of Grottoes, Va., pleaded guilty to misdemeanor resisting arrest and an amended count of simple assault, before county Judge William Shaffer, and was sentenced to 12 months probation, restitution and 30 hours of community service.

Glover initially was charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest, two counts of criminal mischief, loitering and prowling at nighttime, disorderly conduct and summary public drunkenness after an incident outside the Haven at Cranberry Woods apartments in Cranberry Township on Dec. 10.
