Mary Anne Varano Henry

Mary Anne Varano Henry, 79, formerly of Butler, passed away Thursday afternoon at the Grove at Harmony.

Born July 3, 1937, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Codispot Varano.

She previously attended St. Christopher Roman Catholic Church in Prospect and St. Andrew Catholic Church in Butler.

Mary Anne retired as a cook from the former Morgan’s Diner in Butler. She enjoyed her grandchildren, crocheting, puzzles, cooking for family and family get-togethers. When her boys were younger, she would volunteer at the Prospect Boys Club where she was the president of the Mothers Club.

Mary Anne will be remembered for baking and donating snacks to the Slippery Rock football teams.

She is survived by her children James (Debbie) Henry of California, Timothy (Michele) Henry, Bruce (Sue Ann) Henry of Butler, and David (Cindy) Henry of Butler; eight grandchildren, Heather, Dawn, Andrew, Katelyn, Megan, Emily, Dee and Maddie; and her brother, Pasquale Varano of Butler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Dick” Henry; her daughter, Rose Marie Henry; her siblings, Josephine Varano, Connie Cavalero, Rachel Northine and Mickey Varano; and one infant brother who died at age one.

HENRY — Visitation of Mary Anne Varano Henry, who died Thursday, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Nicholas Argenpieri officiating. Interment will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
