NexTier makes a donation to Seneca Valley Foundation
JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Foundation recently received a $17,500 donation on behalf of NexTier Bank.
The donation came through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Education Improvement Tax Credit Program.
A statewide program, EITC enables businesses to make donations to organizations they choose from a Commonwealth-approved list. EITC is a statewide initiative started in 2001.
EITC enables eligible businesses, like NexTier Bank, to apply credits against their tax liability for the tax year in which they make a contribution to support education in Pennsylvania.
“NexTier is pleased to continue our partnership with SVSD and support additional student programming through the PA EITC program. This program provides businesses with the opportunity to provide more substantial donations to local organizations than would otherwise be possible,” said Clem Rosenberg, NexTier president and CEO, in a news release. “The engineering and other STEM programs Seneca Valley offers to students are quite innovative and highly beneficial to students.”
NexTier Bank’s EITC will benefit classes in engineering and accounting.
“We are especially proud to support the Honors Women in Engineering class that provides young women with exposure to engineering concepts and may help encourage them to explore future careers in engineering,” Rosenberg said
