Third-grade pupils at Butler Catholic School were recently asked to write about what Valentine's Day means to them and what they think love tastes, smells and sounds like. The Eagle received submissions from Maria Cosme and Kate Jordan's third-grade classes. Here is what some of the students said.

My favorite thing about Valentine's Day is the party. I like the party because we play games and have fun. I also like making the Valentine's box. It is so fun and it is your own design. That's my favorite thing about Valentine's Day.

My favorite thing about Valentine's Day is the parties. The reason I like the parties would be because of the games. There are things like Valentine's Day candies and stuff but the parties are the best. I love spending time with my friends. I also like parties because they are fun and the candy is good too. My favorite kind of candy is Twizzlers because they are red like hearts. Those are my favorite things about Valentine's Day.
