A close shave
Butler High School teacher Mike Menchyk, whose beard has been growing since 2015, created the “Save It or Shave It?” fundraiser to benefit the Butler Health System’s Caring Angels program. For three weeks, people contributed to the “Save It” or “Shave It” funds. The “Shave It” fund collected the most money, so Menchyk shaved his beard at an assembly at the school. The event raised $12,367.50.
