Betty Jean LeFevre

Betty Jean LeFevre, 77, of Butler passed away Friday surrounded by her family at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 15, 1939, in Parker. Betty was a 1957 graduate of Butler Senior High School. She was the daughter of John and Nancy LeVier Montgomery.

Betty was an avid reader, gardener, Steelers fan and music lover. She was a devoted wife, homemaker and an incredible mother. Betty was a selfless person who saw the best in everyone and put everyone’s needs above her own.

Before becoming a mother, she was an operator for People’s Telephone. Later, she worked for Kmart and for Butler Memorial Hospital for 25 years as a receptionist at the front desk.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years who she married Jan. 17, 1961, John LeFevre Sr. of Butler; three daughters, Michele (Dr. Gregory) Bovasso of Philadelphia, Valerie (Michael) Degnan of Pittsburgh and Kristen (Tim) Young of Butler; two sons, John (Dianna) LeFevre Jr. of Saxonburg and Robert (Mina) LeFevre of Mount Olive, N.J.; 11 grandchildren, John, Jeremy and Justin LeFevre, Yasmine and Sasha Degnan, Isabella and Francesca Bovasso, Timothy and Ty Young, and Michael and Nicholas LeFevre; three sisters, Elsie Double of Connoquenessing, Harriet Miller of Butler and Marilyn Jurysta of Erie; and her Boxer dog, Shakespeare.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Montgomery.

LEFEVRE — Friends of Betty Jean LeFevre, who died Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, will be received from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Interment will be at the North Cemetery in Butler.
