ACTS to present holiday musicalACTS (Adoring Christ Through Song) will present the Christmas musical, “Come Let Us Adore” by Russell Mauldin, at three different locations.This musical is a blend of new seasonal anthems and traditional carols intended to awaken different perspectives of the Christmas story.ACTS is a nonprofit choral/instrumental organization that is committed to provide opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ through the performing arts.All performances start at 7 p.m.- Friday — St. John’s Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road- Dec. 17 — Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 W Old Route 422- Dec. 18 — Center Presbyterian Church, 211 Center St, Slippery Rock.

Church to stage holiday musicalSAXONBURG — Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main St., will present “Rejoice!” at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the church.It is an evening of songs of the season, featuring a 30-voice choir, children’s choir and a time of carol-singing for everyone. The program is free.

Christmas music concert slatedVALENCIA — The organist for Gospel Fellowship Presbyterian Church, John Cannon, will perform a concert of Christmas carols and music at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church, 16 McFann Road.Cannon’s recital experience includes many venues including Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City.Admission is free.

Church plans live Nativity vignettesBAKERSTOWN — The First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, Route 8 at Heckert Road, will host its fourth live Nativity from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday with a rain date of Sunday.The live Nativity portrays the Christmas story through five outdoor vignettes. Holy Sepulcher performance setMIDDLESEX TWP — The students of Holy Sepulcher Catholic School, 6515 Old Route 8, will perform two concerts in Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church. The school band will perform a concert of Christmas music at 1:30 and 7 p.m. Tuesday.The school’s kindergarteners through fourth-graders will sing an Epiphany concert in the church at 7 p.m. Jan. 6.

Holy Hours slated for DecemberThe Holy Hour for Peace will begin at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Prayers include those for peace, vocations, On Mission for the Church Alive, Novena Prayers Our Lady of Perpetual Help, rosary and Benediction.The Divine Mercy Holy Hour will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 20 at St. Paul. It will include prayers for family healing, Divine Mercy Chaplet and Benediction.
