Eagles move to 8-0
Kameron Patterson threw for three touchdowns and ran for another two as Grove City's football team rolled to a 42-7 win over Fairview Friday night on the road.
Patterson was 21-of-26 passing for 310 yards for the Eagles (8-0). He connected with tight end A.J. Turner for scoring passes of 29 and 20 yards and also hit Molek Walker on a 55-yard TD pass. His scoring runs were of 20 and 3.
Riverside 28, Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic 26 — Trojans quarterback Jack Cassidy ran 85 yards for a touchdown with 1:55 remaining in the game, but the two-point conversion failed to hand CWNC (4-3, 3-2) the disappointing loss.
Riverside (5-2, 5-1) led 28-14 late before the Trojans launched a rally.
Brookville 41, Union/ACV 22 — Lucas Bowser threw for 157 yards and a touchdown, but the Falcon Knights fell behind 28-7 by the half and couldn't recover.
Gavin Hawk caught eight passes for 95 yards and Trey Miles had four catches for 56 yards and the touchdown, a 30-yard connection from Bowser.
Greg Duncan led Union/ACV (2-5) with 72 yards rushing on nine carries.
Clarion-Limestone 45, Moniteau 7 — Chance Nagy threw for 74 yards and rushed for another 59, but the Warriors suffered a KSAC loss.
Nagy hit Dalton Anderson five times for 58 yards and the lone touchdown for Moniteau (3-4).
Sto-Rox 35, Summit Academy 20 — The Knights (2-5) dropped their second straight section game.

Girls Tennis
Knoch freshman Elle Santora fell to Katherine Marks of OLSH 6-3, 6-0 in the WPIAL Class AA singles championship match.
Santora finished second in the WPIAL.
Girls Volleyball
Grove City rallied from a first-set loss to topple West Middlesex Thursday night. The Eagles dropped the first set 25-16, before winning the last three 25-23, 25-14, 25-21.
Ashley Jackson led Grove City with 17 kills and 13 blocks. Hannah Santom had 18 assists and seven kills.
