Butler girls golf in WPIAL team finals
Hannah Folk shot an 86 and Butler edged Upper St. Clair by one stroke for a fourth-place finish and a spot in the WPIAL Class AAA Girls Team Championships at the WPIAL semifinals at Murrysville Golf Club Monday.
Liz Rakers shot a 93 to help the Golden Tornado shoot a 384 as a team.
Shady Side Academy won the event with a 331.
Butler will compete for a WPIAL team title Thursday at Cedarbrook Golf Course.

Collette Stahlman scored off a corner kick as Karns City eked out a 3-2 win over Grove City.
Chelsey Dodds and Hannah Knoll also scored for the Gremlins (14-0).
Freeport 5, Springdale 0 — Freeport got five goals from five players in the win.
Cameron Lindsay, Olivia Gaspersic, Sidney Shemanski, Kaylee Comperatore and Hannah Stokes all scored for the Yellowjackets (11-3, 10-0)
Freeport can clinch its first section title since 2006 with a win Wednesday against Highlands.
Seneca Valley 2, Pine-Richland 0 — Julia Redilla scored both goals to lift the Raiders.
Butler 1, North Allegheny 1 — Alyssa Lapuschnak scored off a corner kick late in the second half as the Golden Tornado and Tigers played to a tie.
Boys Soccer
Chase Baxa scored on a penalty kick in the second half to give Slippery Rock a 2-1 win over Commodore Perry.
Nick Stutz scored a first-half goal for the Rockets (10-3, 6-1).
Volleyball
Julia Gibson had eight kills and Maria Lucas added four kills and 16 digs, but Butler (4-6) fell to Avonworth 25-17, 23-25, 25-13, 25-20.
A-C Valley 3, Sharpsville 0 — Kylee Eaton had 13 service points, five aces and 11 kills as the Falcons earned a 25-11, 25-11, 25-23 sweep.
Sydney Rankin added 12 digs and 11 assists for A-C Valley (10-1).
Union 3, Oil City 0 — Frankee Remmick had six kills, three aces and 11 digs as the Damsels swept Oil City 25-20, 25-23, 25-17.
Hannah Atzeni added 18 assists for Union.
