SV golf clinches title
Seneca Valley's boys golf team clinched the Section 3-AAA title outright with Wednesday's 192-209 triumph against Butler at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course.
Paul Lopiccolo came in with a 35 to lead the Raiders (11-2, 9-1), while Adam Bushee and Scott Hangliter both carded a 38.
Butler (5-8, 2-8) was paced by Nic Leone's 38.
SV last claimed the section championship in 2009.

Chase Baxa scored off an assist by Chase Wolinski with 32 minutes remaining in the second half to hand Slippery Rock a 1-0 win over Hickory.
Colin Griffith got the shutout in goal with six saves for the Rockets (8-2, 4-0).
Girls Soccer
Lauren Betts and Jenna Stallsmith both scored for Knoch, but the Knights dropped a 3-2 decision to Hampton in a crucial Section 1-AAA meeting.
Lindsey Fanton and Lindsie Galbreath both added an assist for Knoch (4-5-2, 2-4-1), which received five saves from Becca Stockert.
Butler 4, Shaler 2 — Alexis Leech scored three goals and Liz Simms added another in the win for the Golden Tornado (7-3, 4-2).
Volleyball
Katie Zingero had seven kills and 10 blocks as Freeport swept Hickory 25-12, 25-12, 25-21.
Allison DeJidas added seven blocks and five kills, Kristie Radvan four kills, 16 assists and 15 points and Avery Cowan 13 points and five aces for the Yellowjackets (7-1).
Cross Country
Clarion 15, A-C Valley 50 (girls) — Abigail Burris was the Falcons' top finisher in this Tuesday meet, placing ninth. The boys meet was unscored. Tye Sapien finished 13th to lead the Falcon runners.
