CENTER TWP — Two people sustained unknown injuries in a two-car accident on North Main Street Extension Thursday night when a car rolled over.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. when a Ford Taurus was stopped behind a car turning left at Halland Terrace. A Chevy Cavalier heading north behind the Taurus reportedly crashed into the back of that car, according to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Mitchell Colquhoun.

Colquhoun said that’s where the eyewitness report “gets muddy,” and he does not know how the Cavalier rolled onto its roof.

The driver and passenger of the Cavalier were both taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Police have not yet released the identities of those individuals, and Colquhoun said the severity of the injuries was unknown.

Traffic on Route 8, near the R.P. Musko and Associates, remained open in both directions.

Unionville Volunteer Fire Department also responded.

State police said the investigation is ongoing.
