Larimore 90th birthday
C. Dean “Speed” Larimore, of Chicora Medical Center in Chicora and formerly of Karns City, will celebrate his 90th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Starlight Dining Room at Chicora Medical Center, 160 Medical Center Road, Chicora. Cards can be mailed to him at Fairgrounds Room 316 at the medical center.
Larimore was born on Sept. 29, 1926, in Fredricksburg, near Petrolia. He married the late Mary Ann Hiles on July 24, 1947.
He has two children, Patricia “Patsy” J. Larimore of Karns City and Michael D. (Donna) Larimore of Karns City.
He also has two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He retired from Daugherty’s Refining, now Sonneborn, after 46 years.
Larimore served in the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the U.S.S. Louisville as a seaman second class, gunner’s mate in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1946.
He is a member of Fairview United Presbyterian Church. He also is a member of American Legion Post 488, SOI of Bradys Bend and Argyle Lodge 540 of Chicora.
Larimore enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife across the United States and Canada, and was a member of NCT, Penn West 23. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and tinkering in his garage.
