B. John Thompson

B. John Thompson, 84, of Mars died Sunday morning at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born April 6, 1932, in Queen Junction, Butler County, he was the son of the late Audley and Pearl Smith Thompson.

John had been a truck driver for James Austin Co., Freeport Transport and most recently for the ESM Group.

He was a longtime member of the Mars Alliance Church and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Huffman Thompson, who he married Feb. 21, 1955; four daughters, Debbie Jones (Scott) of Mars, Marcia Gribble (John) of Mars, Lorrie Korn (Drew) of Hermitage and Kim Beidl (Robert) of Clarion; his son, Kenneth Reed Thompson (Evie) of Butler; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, George and Jim Thompson, Dot Snyder and Rose Locke.

THOMPSON — Friends of B. John Thompson, who died Sunday, July 24, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mars Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, with the Rev.
