Vitale is award finalist

Tracy Vitale

JACKSON TWP — Tracy Vitale, Seneca Valley School District superintendent, has been named a finalist for the 2016 ATHENA Awards Program of Greater Pittsburgh.

ATHENA Awards are given to a woman or man who is “honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills.”

Vitale is one of eight women — five veteran managers and three emerging leaders — selected as finalists for the awards.

“I was shocked when I heard that I was a finalist for the ATHENA Pittsburgh Award,” Vitale said in a news release. “I am very honored and quite humbled by both the nomination and the announcement.”

The finalists will be among the many nominees recognized for their professional excellence, contributions to the community and mentorship of other women at the annual ATHENA Awards luncheon on Sept. 26.

The awards are presented by the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
