Riverfest will run July 15-17 this year

EAST BRADY, Clarion County — The annual East Brady Riverfest will be July 15 to 17 with some new and traditional events planned.

It starts with the parade at 6:30 p.m. July 15, followed by music by the Wrangler Band from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

To participate in the parade, individuals, groups, and churches can apply on the festival website, www.eastbradyareariverfest.com.

The festival also will have a wood carver performing on July 16 and 17.

A children’s walk has been added to the 5k race the morning of July 16 followed by afternoon festivities that will include a petting zoo for children from 2 to 5 p.m.

On July 17, events will include a one-day craft show, and festival committee member Dan Weidenhof will provide his bungee jump and other inflatables and games this year.

All the festival’s regular, annual activities also will take place.

There will be the pageant reviews, karaoke (participants must bring their own music), a corn hole tournament, a motorcycle show and a scavenger hunt sponsored by Clarion County Chapter A.B.A.T.E., all on July 16.

There also will be a bicycle giveaway for both boys and girls. Music will be provided by Houseband from Ford City, followed by the Street Level Band. Fireworks by Starfire will end the day’s activities about 10 p.m.

On July 17, the festival will host an interfaith church service. Issac Cole, an “American Idol” contestant will sing after the service, and the annual Riverfest Auction will start at 4:30 p.m.

The Riverfest also will host Beautiful Baby and Precious Pets contests again this year.

To enter bring a decorated can to the information booth before or immediately after the parade. Put a picture of the baby or pet on the outside of the can; put the name of baby or pet, parent or owners name, address, and phone number, and age of baby inside the can.

Winners will be decided by who has the most money in their can. Gift cards will be awarded as prizes. All money in the cans goes to Riverfest.
