Celebrate the 4th

City plans fireworks, shopping contest

The city will light up the sky on the Fourth of July.

With donations from four companies, Butler chose Zambelli Fireworks to put on a fireworks show after the Butler BlueSox baseball game at 6:35 p.m. July 4 at Kelly Automotive Park.

Donations are from Pennsylvania American Water, Peoples TWP, XTO Energy and Edgemark Energy, as well as some private gifts.

Also in celebration of Independence Day, Butler Downtown will sponsor “Independent’s Week” from July 1 to 9.

Butler Downtown will give small business owners posters to put in their store windows advertising a contest for customers.

Customers can fill out forms to enter a drawing for a “Star Spangled” picnic basket or cooler donated by Butler Downtown.

Forms will be collected July 11.

For information, contact Butler Downtown at info@butlerdowntown.org or 724-256-5769.
