Agent: James to skip Rio
AKRON, Ohio — LeBron James has all the gold he needs this summer.
Days after leading the Cavaliers to the NBA title, James has decided not to play in the Rio Games and chase a third Olympic gold medal.
Agent Rich Paul told The Associated Press on Thursday night that James informed USA Basketball of his decision on Thursday, ending weeks of speculation about what the four-time league MVP would do.
The three-time champion is the latest big-name player to withdraw from the U.S. team, joining MVP Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, James Harden and others.
