Girl Scouts give back to church; earn Bronze

Junior Troop 26656 of Cranberry Township completed the “Get Moving” journey and gave back to the Hope Lutheran Church, Rowan Road, Cranberry Township, in gratitude for the church allowing the Girls Scouts to use its facilities as the troop meeting space.

The scouts collected an informal energy audit at the church, finding the church had several “green” policies in place, but did not have adequate recycling resources.

To help, the girls donated several plastic recycling bins to the church, which will be useful after the church finishes its latest kitchen project.

To complete their Bronze Award, which they earned, the girls then educated other Cranberry Girl Scouts on Earth Day about what they learned through their project.

Troop members hosted an event where they ushered the younger girls to four different activity stations.

The troop includes scouts Sydney Dabruzzo, Allison Larrimer, Alex Deighan, Joya Stebbins, Annabelle Neuschwander, Maya Wannamaker, Maddy Kelly, Kenzie Schulz, Kaitlyn Mankevich, Arden Kielly and Erin Castagnero.

Troop leaders are Kristan Deighan and Allison Stebbins.
