KC girls hoop duo 1st team
Karns City senior forward LeeAnn Gibson and Gremlins’ sophomore guard Emily Hegedus were both named to the Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Girls Basketball first team Monday.
Hegedus leads Karns City in scoring at 17.5 points per game. Gibson is averaging 16.7 points per game.
Four area players made the second team.
Moniteau junior forward Kristina DeMatteis and Warriors’ junior guard Alazia Greaves were named to the second team.
A-C Valley sophomore forward Ellie Thompson and Union junior guard Lexey Shick also made the second team.
Karns City junior guard Alyssa Gibson was named to the third team.
Redbank Valley senior guard Brooke Hinderliter was named the KSAC Girls MVP.
On the boys side, Union senior guard Cole Morris was a first-team selection.
Union sophomore forward Lucas Bowser and Karns City junior forward Chandler Turner were named to the second team.
Moniteau senior guard Aaron Marterella and A-C Valley senior forward Austin Heeter were selected for the third team.
Clarion-Limestone’s Dan Callen was the KSAC Boys MVP.
