Company to evaluate stadium bleachers

CHERRY TWP — The Moniteau School Board on Monday night awarded a $21,400 contract to the Senate Engineering Co. of Pittsburgh to evaluate the high school's stadium bleachers and stairs and assess the related stormwater runoff.

The firm also will develop repair specifications that can be used for project bids.

“We don't know when the project will be done until we learn the scope of the work from Senate Engineering,” said Michael Panza, chairman of the board buildings and grounds committee.

In other business, the board:

Approved $2,261 to buy a softball field fence from Penn Fencing.

Accepted donations of $2,000 from Rex Energy Operating Corporation and $500 from Kahuna Ventures to the Moniteau Thespian Booster Club for services from Flying by Foy of Las Vegas. The company will provide theatrical flying effects for the school's spring musical, “Peter Pan.”
