A 17-year-old Prospect teen was injured Thursday when his car hit a tree while he was driving home from Slippery Rock High School. The crash took place about 2:30 p.m. on Slippery Rock Road near its intersection with Stoughton Road. The boy, who was not identified, was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. He was cited for careless driving. State police and the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team responded to the crash. Emergency crews cleared the scene at 3:05 p.m.
