JACKSON TWP — A crash on Route 19 left one person injured Thursday morning.

A Ford Focus crashed into a motorcycle in the middle of Route 19 near Lutz Road about 9:20 a.m.

Zelienople and Jackson Township police said the driver of the motorcycle, whose name was not reported, was stopped to turn onto Lutz Road.

However, the car ran into the back of the motorcycle, injuring the motorcycle driver. He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with possible leg and back injuries.

The motorcycle received “totaling” damage according to Kight’s Cycle Shop owner Randy Kight.

The cycle shop is on Lutz Road next to Route 19. The motorcycle was wheeled there.

The Ford Focus had damage to its right front. Police said the driver of the Focus was uninjured. The car was towed away shortly after 10 a.m.

One lane of Route 19 southbound was temporarily blocked, but traffic was light around that time.
