BRADY TOWNSHIP — Route 8 between Route 173 and Route 108 is open again now that a bridge replacement project over Glade Run is done enough to let traffic through.

That project closed the highway in late April.

State transportation officials said Friday that the bridge opened ahead of schedule. Route 8 had been expected to remain closed through late September.

However, the $1-million bridge project, which was done by JET Excavating, is ongoing and expected to be done in October.

The project had required drivers on Route 8 to detour along Route 173 through Slippery Rock.
