Company opens doors
CRANBERRY TWP — The township has an assortment of companies that have a global reach, but it added one more to that list Monday during a grand opening ceremony.
Solcon USA, a company based in Israel that specializes in manufacturing industrial electronic systems, opened on West Kensinger Drive in the Cranberry Business Park.
The company, which will occupy 21,000 square feet in the building, will employ 30 to 40 people there.
Solcon, which has offices across Europe and China, is a “small company but a global company,” according to Solcon USA President Tom Jaros.
Jaros, along with employees and company executives, held a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“This is a huge milestone,” Jaros said. “We’re small, but we’re getting bigger every year.”
Township manager Jerry Andree said, “This is just another confirmation of the environment in this community that is conducive to technology companies.”
The company has ties to the oil and gas and mining industries, which made Western Pennsylvania an enticing place to do business.
