Urbaniak breaks Rockets' record
Fred Urbaniak ran a time of 14.95 seconds in the 110 hurdles to set a Slippery Rock High school record at the Hermitage Invitational over the weekend.
Urbaniak placed first in the event for the Rockets.
Josh Jones also placed first in the 800-meter run for Slippery Rock with a time of 2 minutes, 3.58 seconds.
On the girls side for the Rockets, Megan Stephenson won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.64 second.
Urbaniak was also fifth in the 300-meter hurdles.
Brady Kadlubek placed second in the 400 (51.10) and third in the 200 (23.14).
Trent Porter was also a multiple placer for the Rockets, finishing fifth in the long jump (19 feet, 7½ inches) and sixth in the triple jump (38-9½).
Brady Dalton was a multiple placer for the Rockets’ girls, placing second in the 100 hurdles (16.52) and fourth in the 300 hirdles (50.10).
Volleyball
Butler went undefeated in the 12-team Hempfield Tournament Saturday.
The Golden Tornado beat Cochranton 25-21 in the championship match.
Butler will host Baldwin Tuesday.
