Downtown Domination, a first-ever urban adventure race in downtown Butler, takes place at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 16.

Teams of two to four participants will begin the event in New Castle Plaza. Each team will be given a clue sheet with the locations of 12 to 15 checkpoints/Butler landmarks embedded in the clues.

Teams will apply street smarts, common sense and strategy to choose the route as they walk or run from clue to clue. The event is roughly a 5K and must be completed on foot.

Participants must be 21 to register. Entry fee is $25 before Aug. 8, $40 afterward. Proceeds benefit Jameson’s Army, which raises awareness and funds for families affected by congenital heart defects.
