Cement truck overturns after collision, spills wet cement on Route 68

JACKSON TWP — A fully loaded cement mixer tipped onto its side Tuesday morning after colliding with a moving van on Route 68.

Chief Neal Nanna of the Harmony Volunteer Fire Company said the J.J. Kennedy mixer was carrying roughly 36 tons of cement when the collision with the Daily Moving van occurred.

Nanna said the accident, which was reported to Butler County 911 at 7:26 a.m., caused the cement to spill onto the road, necessitating a lengthy cleanup using shovels.

“It was still wet,” he said.
