Moniteau frosh DeMatteis MVP
Moniteau freshman pitcher Kennedy DeMatteis has been named Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Softball MVP.
DeMatteis is 14-0 with 120 strikeouts in the circle for the 18-0 Warriors. She also set a Moniteau school record with 46 hits this season.
She is the first Moniteau player to nab conference MVP honors since Sara Vinca in 2006.
Her sister, freshman catcher Kristina DeMatteis was named to the KSAC first team. Also making the first team for the Warriors were infielder Cortney Claypool, outfielder Gabby Stewart and first baseman Taylor Hasychak.
Moniteau’s Alyssa Dailey was a second-team selection as an infielder and Alazia Greaves, Sara Hull and Kayla Campbell were honorable mention choices.
A-C Valley’s Kayla Cratty was a second-team infield selection. Alyssa Babcock and Halee Wetzel also made the second team for the Falcons. A-C Valley catcher Danielle Kaufman was honorable mention at catcher.
Karns City’s LeeAnn Gibson (pitcher), Taylor Downs (infield) and Brittany Coyle (outfield) made the honorable mention team.
