Saxonburg mayor drops re-election bid

SAXONBURG — Mayor Jody Pflueger Eichenlaub dropped her re-election bid today because she is moving out of the borough.
Eichenlaub, 49, and her husband, Carl Eichenlaub, will move to Buffalo Township in the spring.
Eichenlaub, a Democrat, said she enjoyed being mayor for the past four years.
Councilwoman Pam Bauman is the Republican candidate for mayor in the Nov. 5 election.
According to the Butler County elections bureau web page, the deadline to withdraw a name from the ballot was in August.
