Marmon president to retire in early 2014

Norman Gottschalk Jr., president of Marmon Distribution Services in Butler, will retire Jan. 31, 2014.

Vice President Alan Wilkinson has been picked as Gottschalk Jr.’s successor, according to a company news release.

Gottschalk has worked for the company for 45 years.

In 1968 Gottschalk Jr. joined the Keystone Tubular Service Corp., later renamed Marmon/Keystone, as an accountant. He then progressed to the positions of accounting supervisor, assistant controller, and controller.

In 1984 he was promoted to vice president/controller of Marmon/Keystone. Gottschalk Jr. was chosen in 1989 as president, a position he held until being named president of Marmon Distribution Services in 2012.

Wilkinson began working for Marmon/Keystone in 1978, holding a variety of positions including warehouse person, clerk, inside and outside sales, operations manager, branch manager and regional manager. In 1999, Wilkinson was named regional vice president of Marmon/Keystone.

He was then promoted to vice president of Marmon Distribution Services in 2012.

Marmon Distribution Services is a supplier of specialty metal pipe, tubing, bar and sheet products to the construction, industrial and aerospace markets, among many other industries.

The company encompasses Marmon/Keystone LLC, Marmon/Keystone Canada Inc., Marmon/Keystone de Mexico S.A. de C.V., Bushwick Metals LLC, Future Metals LLC and the M/K Express Co. LLC.
