Fire destroys farm’s equipment building

WINFIELD TWP — More than 10 fire departments needed about four hours to extinguish a fire that consumed a farm equipment building on Jones Road on Friday evening.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, which broke out at 239 Jones Road, near the Butler-Freeport Trail head, about 6:30 p.m. Neighbors said the property is owned by Richard Olesnevich.
Chris Ballina, chief of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company, said the building, which contained equipment, but no animals, was a total loss.
Fire Departments from Lyndora, South Butler, Herman, Saxonburg, Worthington, Sarver and South Buffalo, Winfield, Buffalo and Middlesex townships all responded the blaze. Fire departments from East Butler and Lick Hill were on standby.
