$1 million lotto ticket sold in Cabot

CABOT — Someone in southeast Butler County is $1 million richer today than he was Wednesday.
The Pennsylvania Lottery sold three winning Powerball tickets worth $1 million each for the Wednesday drawing.
One was sold at the Planet Mart, 494 N. Pike Road. Cabot. The others were sold in Blair County and in Montgomery County.
Each ticket matched all five white balls, 05-16-22-23-29, but not the red Powerball 06, to win a prize of $1 million, less 25 percent federal withholding.
Each retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the winners until each prize is claimed and each ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year to claim prizes.
The Powerball jackpot reached a game-record $587.5 million annuity prize, or $384.7 million cash. Jackpot-winning tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri.
“Older Pennsylvanians also came away as big winners because this jackpot run generated more than $28 million in funding for vital services to older adults,” said lottery executive director Todd Rucci.
