HARRISBURG — More than a million customers are without power in Pennsylvania following the heavy rains and powerful winds of a hybrid superstorm, but officials say the worst is over. Gov. Tom Corbett says about 600 people are in shelters statewide following warnings of flood dangers and evacuations. He urged residents to stay off the roads today while road and utility workers assess damage. The National Weather Service says breezy and rainy weather will persist through the day but wind gusts aren’t likely to top 30 mph as the storm’s center churns through central Pennsylvania. Some utility customers in the Philadelphia area could be without power for days. Schools and government offices across the state are closed today while transit and airlines are halted in Philadelphia. Four weather-related fatalities have been reported in the state.
