AK Steel, union OK new 4-year contract

WEST CHESTER, Ohio — AK Steel Corp. and members of the United Auto Workers Local 3303 announced today that they have reached a contract agreement.
Members of the UAW Local 3303, which represents 1,250 production and maintenance workers at the Butler Works, have ratified a four-year contract.
The union vote was taken Tuesday.
“We are pleased to have reached a new labor agreement at our Butler Works well ahead of the expiration date,” James Wainscott, AK chairman, president and CEO in a news release today. “The new agreement continues to provide a competitive and flexible labor contract for AK Steel and our Butler Works employees.”
The Butler Works laborers’ current contract expires on Sept. 30, with the new contract starting Oct. 1 and ending Oct. 1, 2016.
