Ex-Mars superintendent Manerino dies
Albert “Al” Manerino, 86, of Mars died Friday afternoon at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was a former superintendent of the Mars School District for 15 years, starting in 1963.
He also was the superintent of Southside Beaver School District in Hookstown for 6 years and served on the steering committee of the state Education Development Center.
Active in the community, Manerino was a charter member and past president of the Rich-Mar Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He had served on the Adams Township Planning Commission and was a member of the Evans City Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Evans Manerino, and other relatives.
Funeral arrangements are handled by McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Mars.
