Grove City cruises, 42-7
The Grove City High football team rushed for more than 300 yards on the way to a 42-7 win over East at Forker Field in Grove City Friday night.
Wes Phipps rushed for 117 yards on only seven carries and scored on a 56-yard run for the Eagles, who took a 26-7 lead at the half.
East's only score came on a 69-yard run by Anthony Jordan following a Grove City fumble.
Foster Reznor scored on a 62-yard interception return for the Eagles.
Harold Price had two touchdowns for Grove City — a 4-yard TD run to start the scoring and a 42-yard reception from quarterback Tyler Dagres.
Wilmington 36, Slippery Rock 14 — Sean White scored on a 5-yard run and Joey Meyer a 28-yard run — both coming in the fourth quarter — in this non-conference meeting.The Greyhounds scored the first 36 points, including a pair of touchdown runs by Ryan Crawford.Michael Stutz added two extra points. He had scored a goal and added two assists in the Rockets' 3-1 soccer win over Wilmington earlier in the day.
Clarion-Limestone 32, A-C Valley 0 — Kyle Robertson and Billy Kelley scored two touchdowns each to lead the Lions past the Falcons in this Keystone Shortway matchup Friday.The Lions used a 20-0 lead after one quarter to take control.A-C Valley's Colton Cunningham completed 11 of 30 passes for 93 yards and one interception while Jeffrey Eaton caught five passes for 42 yards.Jimmy Holton and Mike Suto had nine and eight solo tackles, respective for the Falcons.The Falcons will host Punxsutawney this Friday.
Boys soccerJames Conklin recorded a hat trick and added two assists as the Knoch boys soccer team downed Valley 6-1 Friday.Bob Larimer, Cordell Delzer and Ben Andrews also tallied goals while Josh Burd added two assists and Alex Slomer and Brandon Vargo one apiece for the Knights (1-0).
Slippery Rock 3, Wilmington 1 — Brock Sloan netted two goals and Michael Stutz one goal and two assists to lead the Rockets at the Harborcreek Tournament Friday.

Mars 3, North Catholic 1 — Maura Randolph had 13 kills and Emily King added 12 kills as the Planets captured a 19-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-9 victory.Katie King added 55 assists, Melanie Dinderman 12 digs and three aces and Lara Caraway added 15 digs, all for Mars.
