New law has loopholes
Jean BowenButler
On Aug. 16, a bus tour titled "Votes Have Consequences" stopped at Diamond Park. The banner on the bus read, "Abortion Is Not Health Care." As a participant of the rally, I was interviewed and misquoted in the article in the Butler Eagle. I said federal money was to be distributed to Pennsylvania that could be used for abortions. I did not say that money already is being used for abortions. At the request of the Rendell administration, the Obama administration plans to give Pennsylvania $160 million to fund a high-risk insurance plan. The plan would pay for insurance plans that cover any legal abortion. When the public reacted to the news in outrage, it was announced that the government would retract payment for such plans. This is an example of loopholes in the new health care law.
