Police to charge man for supplying alcohol to underage friends in fatal Muddy Creek crash

State police say they will be filing charges today against a 21-year-old Butler County man for supplying alcohol to four underage friends the October night that two were killed in a high-speed crash in Muddy Creek Township.
Devon Adam Smith allegedly gave liquor and beer to the four young men at Smith's apartment in Franklin Township where they gathered to celebrate his 21st birthday, police said.
Later on the night of Oct. 14, Corey Jones, 18, of Slippery Rock lost control of his car on Route 488 and slammed into a utility pole. He and Aaron J. Rensel, 18, of Portersville, a passenger, died at the scene.
Two other passengers, Kirk J. Hines, 20, and Justin M. Angerett, 18, both of Franklin Township, were flown to Pittsburgh hospitals and treated for serious injuries.
